Can we provide FCSS to two consumers at the same time if they have similar goals (socialization/build peer relations) and confidentiality agreements are signed?
Family and Consumer Support services are not intended to be provided to more than one individual at a time. However, there may be instances where it is considered appropriate. It is important that the service provided meets the intent of the service authorized, and that this is not done simply as a matter of convenience. Each consumer must have a case note to verify the service provided. Because the service is intended to be provided to an individual, billing must be handled differently. Providers should bill for the full amount of time but at half the rate for each consumer, thus the equivalent of the full rate for one consumer. If the situation occurs where there are more than two consumers, the individual unit rate is divided by the number of consumers, 3 consumers equals 1/3 rate for each, etc.
