Hi HoneyBee. Absolutely. With a normal pregnancy, you can keep doing it right up until your waters break. However, in some Indian communities, it is common for the mum-to-be to move to her parent’s home for delivery. It is believed that sex during the last few weeks should be avoided as it can induce preterm labour. Do check with your doctor first if: • you’re having any problems with your pregnancy, such as placenta praevia or bleeding or if you have a history of miscarriages. • if you have undergone fertility treatment or you are above 35 years of age. For some women, the hormonal changes bring about an increased sex drive. Some may be completely averse to the idea of making love. • if you have spotting or bleeding in your early pregnancy. • if you or your husband has a sexually transmitted disease, such as genital herpes.
