Can we get a price list for the different types adhesives for the bonding proccesses?
There are many different hot-melt adhesives that are available, and they would be chosen based on the desired bond properties and the materials to be bonded. The students should be able to choose an adhesive based on the materials they are bonding and find info on the internet. For lack of a more precise number, use a price of “$1.00/pound” (note: updated price). This is a general price for a construction adhesive so it should be understood that the price is purely dependent on what kind of formulation is used. One should understand the logistics of an adhesive system: “Hot-melt” adhesive is delivered in a solid form (either 5 lb. bricks or a 350 lb. drum). They are then loaded into a melt tank, which liquefies them and then pushed by a pump through a hose and through the applicator nozzle (see “process overview”).
