Can we expect a Kenny vs. Spenny movie any time soon?
There’s talk of it. But it’s very difficult to nail down these things. We had an offer which we passed on a while ago, and the money was great, it was just the wrong timing. You know, we really care about the franchise, and we want to have a good idea for a movie before we commit to one. It’s just that the approach to do a movie without an idea is too loosey-goosey for us. It’s all about having a good solid idea that could enhance the franchise. Q: Someone referred to Kenny vs. Spenny as The Odd Couple meets Jackass. What do you make of Jackass? A: The best line I read, I think it was in the New York Times, is that our show “makes Jackass look like Nova.” Q: Whereas the fellows in Jackass embrace humiliation, the whole point of your show seems to be an effort to avoid humiliation. But still, both shows generate content and humour from embarrassment, pain and scatology. What’s your take on Jackass? A: I think Jackass is funny, but I don’t see them as comedians, I never have.
