Can we evaporate small quantities of chemicals from microcentrifuge tubes, pipette tips, or other labware?
Any container that contains less than 1% of its original contents is considered empty. It is therefore okay to evaporate the small residual quantities in the fume hood. It is also okay to accelerate this process by tapping out the labware on a paper towel or other absorbent surface. The dry labware should not be left to accumulate in the hood; it should be discarded as soon as dry.
