Can we be guaranteed that these new reforms will make any significant impact and reduction in the number of Legionnaires disease cases in Victoria?
The State Government is expecting to achieve a reduction in the incidence of Legionnaires’ disease by implementing these measures. By developing regulatory requirements and risk management plans and implementing information and education programs, it is expected that higher standards for cooling tower maintenance will be achieved. This is expected to result in a downward trend in the incidence of Legionnaires’ disease.
