Can water alone clean just as good?

Water though does not harm the marble, it does not also completely wash away acidic and alkalinity residues because • Water is a poor wetting agent – it prefers to stick to itself. • Water does not lift dirt or oil-based residues from the surface. • Water is not good at holding dirt in suspension. This is akin to washing our hands. Water does not harm our skin, however, we required hand soap to wash a pair of oily hands.
