Can Wagner respond from a rough first half?
After entering the season as a team primed for a breakthrough, Wagner is sitting at 1-4. The T-Birds barely got by Corpus Christi King 35-33 for their only victory, and King lost 20-14 to Highlands the next week. Wagner has shown glimpses of reaching its potential: a few moments in a season-opening loss to Smithson Valley and a furious rally last week in a 28-21 loss to Judson. The T-Birds have a dynamic backfield tandem of Tyrea Brown and David Glasco, so the tools are there. In District 27-5A, the playoffs are still in reach.
