Can vomiting causes elevated White Blood Cell count?
Vomiting can’t directly cause elevated WBC count, but vomiting is a sign of a wide variety of underlying illnesses, ranging anywhere from indigestion to infection to cancer. An elevated WBC count would help the doctor narrow down the differential. WBCs can fight infectious agents like bacteria, virus and fungi, so a patient who was vomiting with an elevated WBC count would make me think of infection rather than cancer, or drug overdose.
