Can videos be checked out?
Videos at GCC Libraries fall into three major categories. Videos in the General Collection (DVD and VHS) can be checked out for one week. These videos are shelved with the books (General – Circulating Collection) by call number; DVD cases are shelved with the books, but the actual disc is available at the Circulation Services counter. Videos in the Instructional Collection (Circulation Collection) are available to non-faculty for in-library use only. These videos are kept in the Circulation Services area and can be viewed in the Microforms Room on the north side of the LMC. Vidoes can also be viewed in the Media area at the east end of the building. Faculty may check out these videos for 7 days. GCC Libraries provides access to Streaming Video Titles for students, faculty, and staff as well as those located on the GCC campus. Most of these are documentary titles from the Films for the Humanities. To access these titles remotely an eGCC user name and password is required.
