Can Vicks Sinex Mist cause loss of smell after prolonged use?
Yes, Vicks Sinex does knock out your sense of smell after a prolonged use. I’m not an expert at medical stuff, but I do know fairly enough so maybe I can help. An active ingredient in this product: Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, might cause this to happen. Read the Drug Facts, Warnings, and Instructions (Preferably on the box). Side effects are Burning, Sneezing, and/or inscreased nasal discharge. Note that it also says “Temporary Nasal Congestion Relief”. After 12-24 hours or so, you’re back to square one. Regularly, this product is used if you have a cold. I happened to be in the same situation you’re in. I use to always use Vicks Sinex on a daily basis. Then came a day where I had to pick a cologne for some special occasion… I COULD NOT SMELL ANYTHING!!!!! I was so angry at that point; I knew that it was from using Vicks Sinex all the time. I had to go with one of my friends the next day to help me pick witch one (fourtunately everything worked out). But beside the fact. This is jus
