Can uti antibiotics make symptoms worse?
The antibiotics won’t work right away. It depends on how severe her UTI was and how long she’s been taking the antibiotics. The last time I had a UTI, I didn’t get any relief for about 2-3 days, even while taking antibiotics (My UTI was so severe though that it was in my kidneys). Make sure she’s drinking plenty of water and not holding in her pee. Also, make sure she’s eating yogurt everyday, because antibiotics can deplete the good bacteria found down there, which can cause a yeast infection, which will cause her to end up right back in the doctor’s office. If it’s been a few days (like 3) and she hasn’t gotten any relief, I would call the doctor and try and get a different antibiotic. Hope this helps.
