Can using the on-screen keyboard to enter passwords protect me from keyloggers?
Using the default ‘on screen keyboard’ (herein “V-K”) may not be as beneficial as once thought, because of pixel location recording tactics. A standard ‘QWERTY’ keyboard will always have ASCII characters in the same relative position, making pointer location moderately easy. A technique to thwart this would be to make your own keyboard layout, with a V-K ‘creator’. Several are available, but a dandy freebie is “Click-n-Type” (see below) which has resident as well as portable versions.
