Can University of Oregon undergrads participate in SPUR?

0

Yes, but the application process and program details are different. It is very important to us that all SPUR interns have a rich summer experience, both in and out of the lab. Each year we are very eager to have UO undergrads participate in SPUR, not only for the educational/research mission of the program, but also because UO students are always important in helping the visiting students get to know the area and have a good time. To be eligible for SPUR, UO students must already be working in a research lab in the life sciences, and must begin or continue a long term research project in June. UO students do not apply to SPUR until May, and no formal application or letters of recommendation are required. Instead, we request a letter of acknowledgment from your research advisor (professor) that you are working in the lab and should participate in SPUR.
