I was 19 when we got married. This is about parents who allow their teens who are not legal age — kids who are 15, 16 and 17 years old — to get married. We would like state laws changed so that parents could not give approval for their underage kids to get married. We think anyone under the age of 18 who wants to get married should have to seek a court order to do so. Parents can’t give their kids approval to drink alcohol. Why should they they give approval for their kids to tie the knot?
