Can u identify this missile/ bomb?
1) a “bunker buster” in general is a free-fall ‘gravity’ bomb with a hardened nosecap and a time-delay fuse to make sure it penetrated the top layer(s). It is often “guided” (i.e. a “smart bomb”) with either GPS or laser. They vary in size, but usually, the deeper the target, the larger the bomb. 2) a ground-attack missile *could* perform a similar function, and indeed, most do by performing a pop-up and dive attack to hit the target from above, which is usually not that heavily armored. With a hardened nosecone and a rocket motor for final acceleration, it could conceivably penetrate further than a free-fall weapon, depending on how far up it was dropped, of course. They are nowadays guided as well. Indeed, the “Durandal” runway denial missile/bomb burrows into the ground THEN explodes, creating a large crater, AND spreads bomblets and mines all over the place, making it very difficult to cleanup and repair the runway.
