Can u get pregnant while taking birth control and didn miss a period?
Assuming that you are taking your birth control with perfect usage, it is about 97% effective, if you haven’t missed a period then you’re not pregnant, your ovaries don’t release eggs while on birth control so you are more then likely not pregnant. I would tell you to use a condom as well just to be safe (STD’s if you arent in a monogamus relationship, since Birth Control doesn’t protect against STD’s). If you’re still worried, then take a pregnancy test and I would also tell you to refrain from having sex, cause if you talked to your gyno, asked him/her questions you would know the answer to this question, even you searched the answers the web is filled with information you would’ve found the answer to this question. Kthx.
Actually, the person who answered no is wrong. You can be pregnant and still get a period. I know this because it happened to me 18 years ago. Imagine my surprise when the doc said I was 2 months along! The first month of my pregnancy I had a period. Now…I don’t know if anyone has had more than one period while pregnant, I also don’t know if it’s rare…I just know that you can. I, too, was on the pill, but (I didn’t know this @ the time) there are things that can render the pill ineffective. Example : Diarrhoea, antibiotics, etc. But you really should consult your doc.
