Can u breastfeed if u have breast implants?
Every woman is different. However, most women who have augmentation are able to breastfeed, but it does depend on the surgery and the placement of the implant as others have said. Women who have reductions have a higher chance of having a milk supply concern than those who have augmentation. However, both women can attempt to breastfeed their babies. What you want to watch for is the output of the nursing baby. If that baby (after the first week of life) is having at least 6-8 wet diapers a day and at least one dirty diaper a day (for the first 6 weeks of life), then he/she is getting enough and supply is not a concern. After the first six weeks of life, an exclusively breastfed baby should still have 6-8 wet diapers a day and 1 dirty diaper every 10-14 days. These are the only numbers by which one can measure who much the baby is getting. Do not time the baby or worry about how often he/she eats. Only watch diaper output to be sure baby is getting enough.
