Can u adopt animals rescued from medical research labs?

I don’t know about the UK, but in the US, this is forbidden. These animals are put down after the research. Safety to humans comes first and all kinds of test and research is done on the animals. Not only could they carry some sort of disease, but often the stress and anxiety they are put through would make adopting these animals dangerous and unpredictable.

I worked with animals in a testing lab (though it was a few ago) and the protocol at the time was at the conclusion of a project the subjects are terminated (US). In particular one of the guys wanted to adopt a rabbit but it was a definite violation.
