Can Tylenol Cold and Sinus be taken with Zyrtec?
The names of the Tylenol products change quite frequentlyand currently there is not a Tylenol product with the name Tylenol Cold and Sinus. Most of the Tylenol cold products have some combination of antitussive, decongestant, antihistamine and acetaminophen. Check your container for the ingredients. If there is an antihistamine (usually chlorpheniramine or diphenhydramine), then do not take the Zyrtec (cetirizine), which is an antihistamine. If you have high blood pressure or heart problems, do not take the Tylenol product if there is a decongestant (usually pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine). The decongestant may increase blood pressure or put a strain on your heart. For over-the-counter medications, ask the pharmacist to help in making the right selection. Always carry a list of your medications with you. Always read the packages and heed the warnings if they apply to you. My father is on MS Contin 30 mg every 12 hours.
