Can two LP2951\s be put in parallel to boost current?

Paralleling the LP2951 to get more current is a poor solution as this requires balancing the current between the two devices via small resistor (0.1Ω) in series with each of the outputs. This results in poor regulation because of the voltage drop across the resistor. A better approach is, of course, to use a higher current rating device. The other approach we suggest is using PNP transistor to boost the current, the down side to this approach is the addition of Vbe drop which means the minimum input must be higher than output by about 1.5V.
