Can two isobars drawn on a surface weather map ever intersect?
Two isobars of different values can never intersect! If you are performing a surface analysis and you see a case where you want to, DON’T! You probably have a closed isobar. The reasoning is basically if you were standing at the point of the intersection of 2 isobars, you are ultimately saying you have 2 different pressure values at the same location.
