Can two different SLI compatible Nvidia Graphics cards be connected together using SLI?

No, SLI requires that cards be the same model. They can be different brands, and even have different memory capacities (like a 512mb 9800GTX and 1gb 9800GTX- in which case both will be treated as cards of the smaller capacity). But you can’t pair a GTX 260/GTS 250 or 9800GT/9600GT etc.
