Can true love blossom without the couple having mutual respect for each other?

Of course not. Why is why feminists often are happily married, because they do marry men whom they respect and are respected back. I don’t think many women on this planet really believe all men are rapists, etc etc. However, we are pretty high on demanding respect from our spouses, and don’t need a religion to tell us this. If religion actually hadn’t demanded that women be seen as submissive and second class citizens, there wouldn’t have been the need for the feminist movement in the first place. As for your ideas – I’ve known bitterly unhappy Christian women who have endured their marriages, only in the hope that ~God would reward them for their sacrifice. Each to their own – my life is too short to suffer unnecessarily.
