Can traditional Recruitment Agencies compete in the RPO arena?
This was selected as Best Answer How employers recruit is changing almost daily with the improvements in technology, attitudes of candidates/prospective employees and the need to better manage budgets and respond to demanding and flexible market demands etc Equally how vendors of recruitment services generally support that is changing just as quickly…..or else as suggested below they will fail and again prove Darwin’s Theory of Survival correct. I do not believe that per se RPO Providers and Traditional Recruitment Agencies compete head to head – they are certainly not the only tools available to the Inhouse Recruitment Manager and in many respects offer a different and complementary service. It rather depends on the definition of RPO and what outsourced recruitment services could be – there was a very interesting debate about this in Apr09 on LinkedIn – and how the employer company wants to address its own needs – whether it be volume at a lower level or individual senior executives
