Can this new nurse role be achieved by making some changes in the current four-year baccalaureate curriculum?
The AACN Board has taken a position that the CNL must be educated at the master’s degree level. See pages 19-20 in The Essentials of Baccalaureate Essentials for Professional Nursing Practice (1998) for a reference on the possible future need to expand beyond the traditional four-year baccalaureate program.
