Can they live indoors?
Yes. More and more people are keeping ferrets as indoors pets. They love their home comforts and can be litter trained. Their housing should be made as large as possible and there are many suitable cages available to buy. Alternatively, indoors housing can be custom-made using welded wire and wood. Ferrets are also happy living outside, though the same rule applies to their housing; the enclosure should be as large as possible. Ferrets are not animals that will be happy or thrive in a rabbit hutch at the end of the garden. They need regular contact with people and also require daily periods of exercise either indoors or in a run or ‘court’.
