Can they create mood and tone?
Long sentences often give a more heavy or sleepy feel. Short sentences create a more exciting and surprising mood. Rationale- Though we experience many forms of communication throughout the day, our main form of communication, as humans, is verbal. Class discussion helps the students to practice their own verbal communication skills. It also allows me to teach using verbal communication as a tool for learning.
