Can They Cancel my online order if they say that priced it wrong?

It happened to someone I know too. Several members of a forum to which I belonged ordered the same DVD boxed set from a company. Some of them received them, but this particular person received an email stating that the item had been advertised at the wrong price and that his order had therefore been cancelled. He tried saying that others had received them etc, but to no avail.
