Can They build space ships like star trek and actually make them fly??
Probably not, however in one of the episodes they showed a ship that was being tested….the ship rode on a wave of space time.What they probably meant was an idea proposed by Miguel Alcubierre .what happens is if we can contract space-time ahead of a space ship and expand it behind it the ship could theoretically travel at speeds arbitrarily higher than the velocity of light.There is no violation of relativity as the material of spacetime itself will propel or rather push-pull the ship and no natural laws are broken…..The one problem with this model is to expand or contract spacetime we need large amounts of exotic matter(equivalent to 1 jupiter energy mass or more), which we haven’t even the faintest idea how to produce.
