Can there be more than one Principal Contractor at a site?
There are some circumstances in which there may be more than one principal contractor working at the same general location. For this to happen there would have to be more than one project in progress at the same time. This situation will most commonly arise if two or more different clients commission separate pieces of work at similar locations. However, it may also arise where a single client independently procures two unrelated packages of work relating to the same structure or location. The health and safety plans of all the principal contractors should take account of any interfaces between their work and the work controlled by other principal contractors.
