Ashoka and Chandragupta Mauriya ruled India and they were dictators. If the dictator is broad minded and appreciates cultural anthropology, then yes, a dictator can indeed rule a diverse nation. WHATEVER you say about the Chinese, they run an autocratic system, run it quite well- are world powers, are on UN LISTED top 20 against poverty fight (we r in bottom 20), and are classified now as a second world nation. The CHinese are as diverse as the Indians!
