Can the Yellis Test be used to help identify Gifted students?

0

Because of the Yellis test administration procedures, along with the project’s sample size and standardisation methods, the Young Gifted & Talented (YG&T) programme accepts Yellis Test results to be used to help identify gifted students. Yellis Standardised Scores over 126 (equivalent this academic year to Year 10 Yellis percentage scores of 80% or Year 11 Yellis percentage scores of 82%) are attained by the top 5% of pupils nationally, and therefore can be used as a guideline for admission into the programme. To access your Year 10 Yellis Standardised Scores, you can either look on your Yellis CD in the ‘Standardised Feedback’ folder for a particular cohort, or you can look on the Secondary+ website (follow the ‘Secondary+’ link from Secure Sites – then select ‘Standardised Feedback’ under the ‘Reports & Files’ menu).
