Can the XmScale widget have arrows or tick marks in Motif 2.0?

I see that the Scantron machine is marking some arrows on my student sheets as the sheets are being graded. What do these marks mean?
When I use iWitnessPRO with AutoCal codes for camera calibration, Im getting all "Yellow tick marks, not Green tickmarks, why is that"?
Can the XmScale widget have arrows or tick marks in Motif 2.0?
