Can the UV system be used with a time clock on the pool?
A. Yes, however electrical interlocking of the time clock is necessary. Interlocking means that the power that is supplied to the Series 3 UV system is interrupted when the pump is turned OFF by the time clock. This is accomplished by powering the pump and the Series 3 UV system both through the time clock so they are powered in parallel. Make sure you have the correct voltage for the Series 3 system, as it must be the same as the circulation pump when powered through the time clock.(Unless your time clock allows for two separate voltages) Note: In installations where the Series 3 UV system is located below the pool’s water level, the UV system is full of water all the time, time clock interlocking is not necessary.
