Can the unit be mounted in an outdoor BBQ island?
DeckTunes was designed to be mounted in an open air environment however, with a little creative carpentry, the unit has been successfully incorporated into several BBQ islands. We generally advise against this due to the potential for exposure to excessive heat and lack of proper airflow to vent and cool the interior electronics however, if your island is rather large and contains an area that is well ventilated and completely isolated from the heat of the BBQ pit, building a DeckTunes unit into the structure may be suitable. This decision will need to be made by your contractor after carefully reviewing the acceptable storage and operating temperatures of DeckTunes as indicated in the product specifications. Please note that this type of installation, while possible, is not supported by Outdoor Audio and will immediately void your Satisfaction Guarantee and Warranty.
