Can the unit be installed under the sink, with a drinking spigot on the sink top near an existing faucet? Or will it only work through an existing faucet?
A9: Both of the Regency ( Elite & X ) units are designed as counter top units and work best that way. Reasons for this are that during the automatic cleaning cycle acidic water comes out of the top spout , water pressure turns the power on to the unit so you need an on/off control valve and lastly , all of the water must freely drain out of the unit after each use. The newer Regency X unit has the option of being connected directly to the cold water line instead of the faucet spout.
