Can the TOFEL be waived?
You may apply for a TOEFL waiver only if you are a citizen from one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ghana, Israel, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In order to be considered for a waiver, you must contact the Visiting Student Coordinator via email at visitingstudents@northwestern.edu for an English Language Waiver Form and submit proof of citizenship. A copy of your passport is sufficient proof. Waivers must be requested prior to submitting an application. You will be notified by email if your waiver is approved. Submission of a waiver application is not guarantee that the TOEFL requirement will be waived.
