Can the Tivoli Provisioning Manager agent be installed on a machine with the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center common agent?
Yes. See the “Changing the common agent default port number” section in the information center. More information can be found in the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center Workflow User’s Guide, chapter 2. The Tivoli Provisioning Manager and TotalStorage Productivity Center products will use the same globally unique identifier (GUID) and the installation/uninstallation steps are the same as usual. The only difference is that you need to configure the agents to use a different set of ports and a different installation location. IBM is aware of the complexities caused by requiring multiple common agent installations on hosts. The TotalStorage Productivity Center 4.1 product and subsequent releases will take steps to alleviate this by pursuing an alternate agent approach that will not conflict with that of the Tivoli Provisioning Manager software.
