Can the system send text pages to any wireless telephone or paging carrier, or is this service restricted to only certain carriers?
The Emergin product has been successfully tested with wireless providers across the country, and permits adding new providers quickly and easily. While most of the users thusfar have Nextel service, the County has also sent pages to AT&T, Cingular and Schuylkill Mobile Fone. If you are interested in determining whether your text device will work with the system, or if a carrier wishes to demonstrate its ability to receive text messages, contact the Center to arrange for testing.
