Evaluate the syntax and vocabulary of test statements and rewrite them in less confusing syntactical forms with simpler vocabulary. Permitting students to circle true and false rather than T or F will reduce the impact of letter confusion problems (Wood & Miederhoff, 1988). 12. To avoid problems with memory of specific words, a word bank may be given to the student, or the examiner can include a choice of words below the blank, like a multiple choice item.
