The STE10/100A MII interface uses the TX clock to clock the transmit data out of the MAC and uses the Rx clock to clock received data into the MAC. Both clocks are to be generated by the PHY. Yes, the STE10/100A has been successfully interfaced to a HPNA PHY solution previously.
