Yes. Using our Red-nut J-bolt technology, adjusting the spring tension can be done safely and easily using and adjustable wrench (or a 7/16″ wrench) while the stairway is in the open position. Simply place the wrench on the Red-nut of the J-bolt and turn clockwise to tighten (increase tension) or counter-clockwise to loosen (decrese tension).
