Fisheries use long lines loaded with barbed hooks to catch huge amounts of fish. Unfortunately, sharks and particularly seabirds can become victims as they tend to go either for the bait or the fish. In doing so, they often get caught in the lines, get injured and sometimes die from the severity of their injuries. Even endangered species such as the black petrel can be victimized which does not help the weakening numbers of specimens left in their specie. But the question that haunts everybody’s mind is: “What can we do about it?” Well some fishermen experimented with three products: salt water, shark liver oil and vegetable oil.
