Can the sensor track objects in a large volume?
A. Yes but motorized stages are needed. The operating field of view can be large. However, at some point it may be more practical to move the sensor with motorized stages, keeping the reflection within the field of view of the sensor regardless of where the object is located. Because the update rate of the sensor can be very fast, a closed loop system can track fast objects within a large volume while still maintaining micrometer position accuracy.
