Can the school hold a transition planning/IEP meeting without the student or parent present?
School districts are responsible for inviting the student, of any age, to his or her IEP meeting if a purpose of the meeting is to be about transition services or service needs. If a student does not attend the IEP meeting, the school must ensure that the student’s preferences and interests are considered.
