Can the same banding handtools that use polypropylene be used for polyester strapping?

Sometimes!…but only if the tools use a serrated or grit faced seal. Polyester strapping is a harder material than polypropylene strapping and if ordinary *smooth faced seals are used joint strength will be seriously reduced to the point where the system strengths become unsafe. Friction weld tools such as the BXT are generally used nowadays for manual strapping applications.
