Can the Safe-Lock micro test tubes be sterilized in an incubator for 2 hours at 120 °C?
Unfortunately we can’t supply you with the information you wish. The parameters for time, pressure and temperature are given in the standard specifications for autoclaving. These are, 20 minutes, 1 bar and 121 °C. We are not able to tell you how the polypropylene behaves with 2 hours of dry heat (120 °C). However, in the book, “Die gebräuchlichsten Kunststoffe (The most useful plastics), H. Dominighaus”, a constant operational temperature of only 100 °C is recommended for polypropylene.
