Can the RFID inlays be disposed of with the normal waste?
Yes they can. At the moment, fashionGroup RFID knows of no negative consequences in the waste and disposal cycles through the use of RFID technology and its system’s components. The legal situation is very clear. The disposal of RFID –readers and –writers, regardless of what technical type, follows the rules and regulations of the German laws for electronic and electronically equipped gear. This means that they can be disposed of in the already existing disposal and recycling systems. The transponders themselves are not under any environmental regulations. They can be disposed of with whatever item to which they were attached (environmental packaging, packing material).
