Can the rear leg socks be pulled up over the hocks?
We don’t recommend pulling the socks up over the hocks. The hock is a complex joint in the rear leg anatomy of a horse. If you are going pull the socks up over the hock, keep an eye on the socks so that the horse can lie down comfortably without the sock cutting circulation. We know of owners who have stacked the socks to cover the hock to keep an injured area warm. It works well for them but they really keep an active eye on the placement of the socks.
We don’t recommend pulling the socks up over the hocks. The hock is a complex joint in the rear leg anatomy of a horse and the rear leg socks do not have the “cross stretch” to safely cover the hock without causing constriction. If you need warmth on the hock, order the new Hock/Knee socks along with your leg socks. Ordering in this manner saves you money, but also, the new Hock/Knee socks are expanded to allow a safe fit over the hock.
